In the Sacred Space

The group begins with participants each briefly reporting on their meditation and recovery work. Group meditation follows, with a guided mediation experience as needed or desired. The group breaks for tea, questions and answers, and a little conversation after meditation. The last 45 minutes are structured by group reading & discussion of 12-Step Buddhist Literature to support participants’ walk down the eight-fold path and recovery. In August, 2014 the group began reading 12-Step Buddhist by Darren Littlejohn. A new book is read every six to eight months.

This is a peer led meditation and discussion group on Buddhism and recovery, founded in Jan. of 2010. We share facilitation within the group by signing up on a calendar, using a “script” of the meeting format. The group is not affiliated with any specific Buddhist or 12-step recovery fellowship, all are welcome.
