Mindful Recovery is a peer support group that explores the relationship between mindfulness, Buddhist teachings, and the 12-step path to recovery from addictive behavior. Our weekly meetings focus on mindfulness meditation practice and developing insight into the habitual thoughts and patterns that drive our unskillful behaviors.

The format includes silent meditation, readings from Buddhist, mindfulness, and 12-step recovery literature, and discussion and sharing.

Our group is not affiliated with any Buddhist center or 12-step recovery program, and is not a substitute for 12-step meetings or dharma study. We honor the 12-step traditions of anonymity and confidentiality.

This is a peer led meditation and discussion group on Buddhism and recovery, founded in Jan. of 2010. The format includes sitting meditation, a reading on Dharma & recovery, and open discussion on the reading and recovery support. We share facilitation within the group by signing up on a calendar, using a “script” of the meeting format. We do not teach meditation, but offer support for those who wish to find further meditation instruction. The group is not affiliated with any specific Buddhist or 12-step recovery fellowship, all are welcome.
