We come together to acquire mediation skills, study teachings that help in our recovery, share our words with each other, and create group support. Mindfulness practice helps us develop the capacity to see clearly what we're attached to, so that we can let go of our clinging and aversion in order to ease the dis-ease of our recovery. How we differ from some groups, is that we neither wish to obsess with using, nor obsess with not using. Instead we wish to change our relationship of the obsessive thoughts, such that we recognize them for what they are, and are able to make healthy choices instead of reacting.

We begin with a check-in, followed by 30 minutes of meditation. At 8pm we have a social break for tea. The first portion of our meeting is open to all, the second portion, or Recovery Sangha, is specifically for recovery support. You are welcome to stay or go at the break.

* Parking available in the 16th avenue lot, glass chapel doors are in South.
Knock loud if coming much after 7pm as the doors may be locked.

Our weekly meetings focus on mindfulness meditation practice and developing insight into the habitual thoughts and patterns that drive our unskillful behaviors.

The format includes silent meditation, readings from Buddhist, mindfulness, and 12-step recovery literature, and discussion and sharing.

Our group is not affiliated with any Buddhist center or 12-step recovery program, and is not a substitute for 12-step meetings or dharma study. We honor the 12-step traditions of anonymity and confidentiality.
